Statement on the US-Israel-Iran war of '26
Back when the Iraq war started in 2003 I was 25 years old. I didn't have much interest in politics before it galvanized me into paying attention to what is going on in the country I'm living in and where my taxes are going. Almost half a million people died in that war that ultimately created ISIS which never existed in secular Iraq before the invasion. The whole thing was predicated on lies and I remember being so upset about it that I was inspired to draw this picture below. That was 23 years ago. George W Bush, an imbecile by any standard or measure, nonetheless put on a show of seeking legitimacy for his plan by going to the United Nations to "explain" his case to the world. This is the origin of the propaganda campaign over WMDs which I remember CNN back when it was full neocon was hammering into people's minds as gospel daily. Anyone from my generation remembers that. There were protests in the streets for weeks before it started, worldwide, and then inevitably the Americans invaded anyway, because when did US leaders ever care about the opinion of the world or even of its citizens? We all know this. Yesterday when I woke up it felt like a repeat of the past, except this time, there was no pretense of going to any international body or coming up with a single excuse. They just did it, of course, violating the US Constitution, which has been routinely violated since the Korean War in the 50s I'm sure there will be a big "debate" now in legacy media over whether what already happened was legal or justified. In any case, no one cares. This generation is different and doesn't follow a single stream of propaganda like in the past, and people are fed up with war from both political flanks, so there is hope that more pressure is possible and people will, at most, lose their jobs. But of course the people caught in the crossfire of this idiocy will lose much more. Here again, I will emphasize to readers everywhere, I did not vote for the bloviating pedophile war criminal insurrectionist. There is no justice from without except what humans decide is justice. But if there was, we would be living in a completely different world. My full support to the long suffering Iranian people who deserve more than this and what is coming in the power vacuum that follows, I am completely on your and only your side at this moment.
